Beef filled puff pastry (Bourekas)

Beef filling 

2 lbs ground chuck

Two cups onions chopped

1/2 cup chopped  parsley 

2 tablespoons garlic

1 tablespoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon Onion powder

1 teaspoon cayenne 

1 teaspoon paprika 


Mix spices and meat, let marinate for 3 hours 


Sauté beef and onions to evaporate all of the liquid, 

Add the add spices

Sauté another 5 minutes.


You can use store bought puff pastry. I used Pepperidge farms puff pastry.

Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness make squares, place filling on one half of triangle and cover other side. Press the seams to close.

Place on baking parchment, egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds.

Chill for a half hour before baking on 400 F

Until double in size and golden brown about 25 minutes.


If you want to make the swirl.

Roll you dough to 1/8 inch thickness 4 by 4 inch place filling on one side and roll like a jelly roll. Close the seams and firm a snail roll.

Chill and 

Bake same way as triangles
